A social impact venture aiming to prevent global plastic pollution through the implementation of a circular economy in Asia.
THE BIG IDEA
Only a fraction of the globally consumed plastic is recycled, reused, or properly disposed of. A majority is dumped on the streets and beaches, in landfills and rivers and oceans. Needless to say: the ecological, social, and economic consequences are severe. Project glassic is counteracting this sort of pollution by tackling the problem directly at its core, with solutions specifically designed for each target market. We provide plastic substitutes, clean beaches, and create awareness around the world, targeting locations in South-East Asia, one of the most affected areas.
Our vision is to achieve a systematic change in the consumption paradigm. We create enterprises all around the world with a clear circular business model. All of them are combating the plastic pollution right at its roots while supporting beach clean-ups and educational projects to raise awareness.
Glassic is changing the local paradigms of our target markets with a social B2B business model, setting the base for lasting change and circular economy on site.
With our first business in Ko Kut, Thailand, we offer an alternative to plastic bottles for restaurants, hotels and the tourism industry. The drinking water is produced locally and filled in our multi-use glass bottles, which are elegant, accessible and affordable.
But we go beyond the tourism sector: we also clean up polluted areas and create awareness, implemented by local and self-sufficient businesses. A complex problem requires a comprehensive solution.
How we work
So how does it all work? Our local process consists of four parts: first, the drinking water production, followed by the bottling and the logistical distribution of the bottles to our B2B-customers. Finally, the bottles will be recollected, cleaned and refilled to complete the sustainable cycle.
We empower locals and tourists to embrace nature without polluting it.
